This year, instead of luring customers into their stores by lowering prices, announcing discounts and offering prizes on Black Friday, REI announced they are choosing to #OptOutside. That's right, REI employees will not be stuck behind cash registers the day after Thanksgiving, they will be outside- running, hiking, biking- enjoying the outdoors. And the brand is encouraging customers to do the same.
We could not be more on board with REI's decision. This Black Friday, our wallets are taking a rest day and we will be outside enjoying nature and enjoying life.
