Let’s be real – most of us don’t have a Lululemon budget, and we don’t want to be limited to the generic Nike pieces sold at Modell’s. Where else can you go to find cute and affordable workout clothes? More and more stores are adding performance gear to their collections, so no matter your financial or style concern, there’s somewhere to find what suits you best. Here are eight fashionable stores where you can pick up running gear that fits your style, body and budget:
H&M Snag tanks, tights and even swimsuits from H&M, most under $30. True to its minimalist nature, the workout gear from this retailer sticks to simple designs like colorblocking.
The Gap/Gap Outlet The all-American brand doesn’t just sell denim – they’ve got an extensive workout collection as well. Their GapFit legging styles cater to runners, dancers or yogis, and you can almost always get them 20-40% off. Check out their outlet store for even cheaper finds!

Old Navy Gap sister company Old Navy has it’s own workout line as well, and you know a place that sells jeans for as low as $19 will have affordable options! If you shop here, take a look at their sports bras. American Apparel Stick to solids from American Apparel. Their prices are closer to Lululemon than H&M but every now and then you can score a Groupon deal for 50% off.
Express Express launched a complete women’s workout line a few months ago, which is just as great as their other clothes. Between sales and coupons you can ALWAYS score a deal and since performance gear is sold online and in select stores only, they offer free shipping and returns with no minimum purchase required. Got large hips and an itty, bitty waist? Their leggings were made for you!
Forever 21 The mecca of cheap trendy fashion, Forever 21 recently launched it’s own active wear section as well. Find leggings in any color other than basic black and mix and match with their tops for a fashion-forward workout look. TJ Maxx/Marshalls If you like Nike and Adidas but don’t like their prices TJ Maxx or Marshall’s is ideal. You can snag the same pieces available at Sports Authority but for a Forever 21 price.
Nordstrom Rack A step up from TJ Maxx/Marshalls is Nordstrom Rack. They’ve got active wear from traditional brands like Reebok and Puma but you can also score pieces from more high end designers like TART or Splendid. Where do you find workout gear? Have you had any luck at any of these stores? Sound off in the comments section below!

I tend to get my workout gear from target. Champion is colorful, true to size and lasts. Ive also splurged once at Fleet Feet on Nike and Brooks. TJ Maxx is good but tends to carry smaller sizes and can be expensive unless its on clearance. I tried on workout clothes at H&M but didnt like the material. It showed every bump and roll, didnt seem like it would hold up on long runs but it was all very cute. Cant wait to try Gap and Express!

I love the gear at Old Navy. That’s where I buy most of my workout gear. Target also has nice things. Check out Kohl’s. They have items from Fila and Nike. The prices aren’t bad because there’s always a sale going on.

Ross Dress for Less has a great selection of workout apparel. One of the best bras’s I bought for running was actually purchased at Ross for less that $10. (Saw the same bra at Sports Authority for 5x the Ross price)
Also Wally world (Walmart) oft times has great shorts for running.

Old Navy is a great place to find workout clothes. I shop there on a regular basis and you can find great pieces on clearance all of the time. The clothing is good quality and holds up very well. My favorite running sports bra I got from Old Navy.

I get most of mine from old navy and wal-mart. I buy old navy bottoms in the off season and wal-mart shirts in season. The bottoms (usually under $10) last for a couple of years and the tops (about $6) are great for a summer. ;-)

Sign up with JcPenny and/or Kohls newletter etc. I got great quality workout pants for 10 or less using coupons and promotions codes.

I have been getting my running clothes from Target, Walmart, Marshalls, and TJ Max.

My favorite places to find quality workout gear include the Goodwill, Texas Thrift
Store, Clothes Mentor, and the Salvation Army. Those “boutiques” have everything you need to workout in while looking fabulous without paying a pretty penny. All the brand names and no-names are available. The only problem can be is the available quantity or sizes. As expected good things often come in limits (smile).

Old Navy, Target and Marshalls, for me, are the best places to go…i like their gear because its good quality and reasonably priced :-) this is good for me because i hate buying new clothes (ie sports bras) everytime i loose weight…i don’t feel so bad if i’m re-buying things in a smaller size and at a sweet deal :-)
