Candice Mackel: Candice Nicole is an Entertainment & Lifestyle Publicist who owns Candice Nicole Public Relations which she started after graduating from HBCU Morgan St. University in 2007. Since then, Candice has worked with numerous national artists & entertainment projects. Candice started her healthy lifestyle November 2011 when she participated in the Turkey Trot in Charlotte, NC with her family. Since then she joined boot camp and has since lost 50 lbs. She has also participated in 3 5K's and is looking to add more to her list! In 2013, she created "Be Your Best Self Today" (launching June 2013) and "Rise And Sweat" (launching late Summer). Rita Davidson: Former NC native & now RI resident, Rita Davidson, better known as, Qochemist is a YouTube vlogger who enjoys natural hair care, crafting, thrifting, cooking, wine tasting, social networking and more. She started on You Tube as a natural hair vlogger and as her audience expanded so did the focus of her channel, which now includes a fitness vlog component. With several Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K events under her belt she is excited to participate in the 2013 Black Girls Run Sweat With Your Sole event along with a few lifelong girlfriends. Akilah Smith: A Newark, NJ native, I moved to Charlotte, NC in 1992 and attended Johnson C. Smith University. I’m a published author and licensed N.C. Real Estate Broker. I started my fitness journey last June when the lbs started adding up and I was unable to fit any of my clothing; therefore, buying another wardrobe was NOT an option. I started off with BGR! in the c25k program and found my joy for running again. I have been very active in the Charlotte BGR! Chapter ever since. I have encouraged my friends and family across the US to become members in their city as well. I am excited about this second go round blog journey to hopefully to inspire others to join the BGR! movement. She is a graduate of Lemoyne College (BS) and Winthrop University (MEd). Robin is happily married with 2 girls (8 and 16 years old) who often attend BGR! runs. Robin joined BGR! Sanpri Purdy-Porter: I am Sanpri Purdy-Porter, and I started running with BGR! Charlotte approximately 2 years ago as a way to compliment my weight loss journey. I met my weight loss goal in September 2012, with a total weight loss of 80 lbs! I made a goal for myself to run a 5K without stopping. I did it…and since then I have successfully completed 3-5Ks, 2-10Ks, 1-8K, 2-Half Marathons, and a Marathon relay.
