As thousands of runners hit the pavement this morning to take part in one of the most historic races in the world, even more hundreds of thousands spectators looked on from the streets in Boston, their computers and televisions. The Boston Marathon is a tradition for so many, and now is day we hold close to our hearts, and we forever remember.
Within seconds, the festive occasion became a devastation. Two explosions went off within seconds of each other near the finish line claiming lives, memories, and once in a lifetime experiences for many.
In honor of those who participated in the Boston Marathon, finished or unfinished, and the families and friends of all, Black Girls RUN! keeps you in our prayers, and we send our deepest condolences.
