BGR! Product Review: Saucony Virrata

photo-1Light. Bright. & Comfy. And, let's not forget the Neon Yellow! Let me begin first by saying I have not worn a pair of Saucony's in years! And, the ones I had in high school were for fashion, not running. But, when I received these bad boys in the mail, I was immediately excited to give them a test run! These shoes are considered PERFORMANCE NEUTRAL. If you're a runner with high arches and you love to race or train fast, Performance Neutral shoes are right for you. I give the Saucony Women's Virrata an A-. When I first received the shoes in the mail, the neon yellow is really eye-catching, and really makes the shoe appealing.  The second thing I noticed was how light the shoe is (only 6 oz.). Saucony describes the shoes as "our lightest and most flexible training shoe and allows your foot to move naturally." This is very accurate! I need support in my running shoes, and even though these shoes are light, they still provide that additional cushion I needed. Another great thing is, the breathable mesh upper makes the shoe incredible lightweight and quick-drying to run in wet weather conditions. The natural stride it helps to give your running is awesome, and its lightweight, low-to-the-ground design is perfect for picking up speed without feeling weighed down. The only thing I did not like about the shoe is it does not do well with distances over 5 miles. I typically do 2-3 miles daily, so they work for my weekly daily runs. But, my long Saturday runs, not so much. I do not think it provides enough support (at least for my foot for long distances). So order yours today! I promise you will LOVE them! We highly recommend these shoes, but of course, please go get your gait analyzed first at your local R.E.I.
