The week is in full swing and things around BGR!-land couldn't be more exciting! Last week we announced our second conference and race weekend to be held in Charlotte, NC and Black Girls RUN! literally rocked the streets at the 2013 Little Rock Marathon in Arkansas. I didn't have an opportunity to run the race, but the hubster and I cheered along all the BGRs we saw!
It's a rare occasion that I get an opportunity to stand on the sidelines and cheer others along. I'm still shocked and amazed at how much of an impact this movement has made in our community, as well as the running community. So many people commented about how enthusiastic our ladies are and how much energy they bring to the running scene. I couldn't have been more proud!
I can't wait to bring that enthusiasm to the 2013 ZOOMA Texas Half Marathon & 5K. Don't forget to RSVP for the event. ALSO, instead of our traditional meet and greet (or eat), we are doing something a little different and kicking it 80s style. (Finally, Ashley and I can channel our inner Salt-N-Pepa). Join us the evening before the Texas race for a 80s themed party from Honest Tea. They'll have all of your favorite 80s music (start brushing up on your Thriller moves), games, prizes, nibbles + wine. Please note that you will need to dine before coming to this event! Again, don't forget to RSVP. We hope to see you there!!
