During the Capital City Marathon event last month in Columbus, Ohio two lucky winners had the opportunity of winning a brand new pair of Wave Rider 15s. Tamika Bowen emailed us to give us the reviews of the Wave Rider 15s. Check it out!
Not to be outdone by the excitement of winning the shoes at the Capital City BGR meet up, it was love at first sight the moment I took the Mizuno Wave Rider 15's out the box. The color is a deep berry red (almost fuschia) and they look great with all my BGR gear. I have run in them a couple times a week for the last three weeks and what I like most is that they are very light weight and very cushy. I was also pleasantly surprised by the very roomy shoebox for my wide feet, because the shoe looks very slender. The first few runs were 2-3 miles and the run today was a longer 4.5 miles.I noticed today some strain in my ankles after mile three. Not bad, but not typical with my Brooks Trance 11's. I'm working on increasing my distance, so I plan on purchasing a pair of Superfeet Berry inserts for the support I need ( I'm a big time over pronator). If the inserts help, the Wave Rider 15's will be in heavy rotation in my long runs and my planned 10k's. If not I will use them for my short runs, where fatigue and strain in the ankles is a non-issue. Overall, a good, solid running shoe that will get adequate use this season. Thanks, Tamika Bowen.
