I can't say that my hair has ever blown in the wind or that I've looked this sexy while working out. It's actually the complete opposite. I usually look like I've been ran over by a train...twice (see picture far right).
I remember the days I used to get "dressed up" to go to the gym. Everything had to be perfect and my outfit had to coordinate. In hindsight, I realize I was much too busy trying to be cute than focusing on getting a good workout.
Then one day I had an epiphany. I'm not sure why or how, but I stopped caring about how I looked at the gym and what people thought about me. So, I need to lose some weight? That's why I was at the gym, right? So I was a sweaty mess. That means I was really working out hard. The most liberating moments have been working out directly after getting a perm. It has been my breakthrough and each month it gets a little easier.
I honestly feel like my workout game has improved since I stopped caring about who I might run into at the gym or how my hair looked. When we think about all the things holding women back from getting a good sweat, appearance rises to the top of the list. Are you giving your workout justice? Are you still worried about how sweaty your hair might get? How much do you care about how you look at the gym or while working out?
