I am so excited about this year’s Thanksgiving. It's all about family, fun and FRIED TURKEY! Yes, fried turkey. My aunt makes the best Cajun deep fried turkey! Since Thanksgiving is less that a week away, I thought about posting some tips on eating light and portion control. However, I don’t want to be a hypocrite. Plus, if your family is anything like mine they are not open to low-fat, light, low-cal, tofurkey, margarine, pork substitutes, etc. Honestly, I’m still trying to convince one of my aunts not to use fatback and hamhock.
Knowing that I am going to consume around 2000 calories on Thanksgiving day, I decided to sign up for a race. I usually burn 100 calories a mile, so a 10k will burn off 600 calories. This isn’t a substitute to healthy living, but it does give me some leeway if I can’t push away from the table.
